Richard Bradford, MaidstoneIn May of 2002, I suffered an injury at work. After a few months had gone by in extreme pain and having been pestered by my employer as to when I was going to return to work, I was forced to give up work. Obviously with no income, I was haemorrhaging money fast on travel to and from treatments and with the cost of prescriptions the debts began to mount.
One of my ex-work colleagues suggested that I make a claim against my employer with a company specializing in a No Win No Fee case.
I made a few phone calls and was introduced to Marsons Solicitors of Bromley in Kent.
The advantage of going through a solicitor as opposed to my union was that I would only need to go to meetings and consultations when it suited me. My employer had a reputation for being inflexible and inconsiderate in these situations. One must remember that claiming against one's employer is not a way of becoming rich quick. But to compensate you for the pain and discomfort that you have suffered, your loss of earnings and any costs that you have incurred during your illness. In my case my problem is ongoing and therefore one must remember that one's resources are not infinite.
My employer was very underhand in its approach to my case. Any dirt that it could drag up against me was aired. However, my solicitor was very professional in her approach and took everything thrown against me in her stride. With her excellent talent and professionalism, she swiftly brought my complex case to a successful conclusion.
Sadly, after surgery in 2004, I suffered at the hands of another unsympathetic employer...But yet again, my saviour was Marsons Solicitors who acted for me and I received a payment which I may not have got.
Would I recommend Marsons?
Yes I would...and I have
